Drugstore: Mascara - L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara:

Collagen-infused formula and Millionizer Brush for amplified volume and definition. Our Millionizer Brush : Uniquely designed to amplify and separate lashes from corner to corner while building breathtaking volume.

It really does what it claims. It releases the perfect amount of product on the wand which leads to less unnecessary buildup on their part, but what you allow on your part (I truthfully wouldn’t go back for the second time with this wand). It did give me a clean coat of product (yes I give them that…Yippie!), but to me this gave me spike-y thin long-ish lashes that separated into malnourish spider legs—eek! I know.

***Reminds me of Cargo Lash Activator Mascara:

I really do love how this wand seperates...I use this as a Spoolie to clean-up any clumpy residue left from the mascara since it perfectly separate my lashes.

Like most I want super long thick lashes... so I came to the conclusion that I would solely use this for my lower lashes (*my lower lashes are short*) since it elongates and separate (*this will give my eyes an amazing awakening look*) and when I’m done applying my top lashes (of whatever brand I decide) I will apply L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara on the tip of the outer portion of my lashes.

FYI for those who are wondering I did noticed some smudging after a few hours of wear.

Overall, it does what it states—gives you clump-free elongated lashes! will I repurchase? Hmmm…it does a superb job on my lower lashes, but I don’t think so. I personally think it’s meant for people with thick lashes not someone with sparse lashes.

Au Natural - Hair Concoction for Dry Hair

I was on Curlynikki website and came across a video by Naptural85 (this took me on a passage of no return—I was clicking on nearly all her videos). Pretty much love at first click. FYI: We share the same hair type *4a - Slightly tight small coiled hair, Prone to breakage due to lack of natural moisture*).

So Anywho, I came across one video explaining a few concoctions she uses semi-daily on her hair: Shea butter base product and Coconut oil base product.

I instantly grab everything I could find + the sink ^__^ (didn’t have jojoba oil so I just subbed it for safflower oil)...

Shea Butter Base (Thicker Creme/Pomade)

-Unrefined Shea Butter at Room Temperature (5 spoons)
-About 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
-About 1 tsp Olive Oil
-About 1 tsp Castor Oil
-About 1 Tbsp Jojoba Oil
-About 1/2 tsp Vitamin E

I use the Shea butter base product as a pomade and the Coconut oil Base product as a Sealant (Apply this right after my leave-in).

Coconut Oil Base (Liquid/Sealant)
- Coconut Oil 1/2 Cup
- 1/2 tsp Castor Oil
- 1 tsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Jojoaba Oil
- add a table spoon of shea butter base mix

***I had so much fun doing this since I love playing with mxtures anyway.

Here's a hair pudding I fell in love with during the summer:
Hair Pudding...

++ I recycled my Cantu Shea Butter tubs for my new creations.

Au Natural: Kinky-Curly Knot Today Leave-in

Okay so we all know I was dying to try the famous "Kinky-Curly Knot Today Leave-in conditioner"… I tried it ...liked it, but didn't love it! Since I literally have two textures in my hair I notice when things work and really work like a gem! It worked on the back/side *perimeter* of my head (3C-ish) and did okay for the rest of my hair (4a). I think the problem was this product was too runny and not thick enough or maybe it just works well on freshly made knots ...and not 5 day old knots lol I kidd..

So, now what I do is use it as a semi-base for a leave-in mixture (thanks to kimmaytube for the splendid idea) tried it once and it def equals love! You really won’t notice the “wowzer” until your hair is semi-dry—at least I didn’t (that's when I apply my Shea & coconut concoction *will get to that soon*).

So, I pretty much follow her ingredient list:

2 tablespoon – Kinky-Curly Knot Today Leave-in
1 tablespoon – Aloe Vera Juice
½ Tablespoon – Castor Oil
½ tablespoon – Safflower Oil
(I didn’t have Jojoba Oil and I really wanted any reason to add this stuff to the mix.)

I apply this mixture to freshly washed hair. Twist my hair in random two stand twist (this helps separate thick hair). When I’m done wrap my hair. Next morning I should have semi-wet hair if not spirtz a little h20 follow w/ mixture.

Will I repurchase the Kinky-Curly Knot Today Leave-in? Yes! It worked well w/ the other add-ons. Making it a mega detangler machine lol.

***I can get 6-8 usuage from one bottle. Leaving this to last me 1.5 to 2 months!

DIY: Fix+ Lavender (Facial Mist/Setting Makeup)

Fix+ is used to refresh and give the skin a boost of hydration. You can use it as a pick-me-upper or just to set your makeup afterwards.

Remember when they came out w/ Fix+ Rose?

An aqua-spritz of vitamins and minerals, infused with a Calm-the-Skin blend of green tea, Chamomile, Cucumber, topped off with the scent oF 100% natural rose water.

I figured I could create my own Fix+Rose Mist *1 part glycerin for every 3 parts rose water*

Welp! they did it again...

Fix+Lavender...and I figured you could do the same thing too ^__^ ...create your own!

created montage w/ google images.
*1 part glycerin for every 3 parts lavender water*

Lavender is great for the skin! Have scarring from a pimple or going through some breakout mishaps? Lavender is the great way to ban those issues. Being that it has antiseptic and anti-fungal which helps to reduce these problem issues and speeds up the healing process and guess what? It's also useful for treating eczema and wrinkles.

FYI...the sky is the limit w/ this concoction! You can add loads of other beneficial things to your mist.

Drugstore: Mascara - Revlon Revlon Grow Luscious

Revlon Grow Luscious = all-in-one mascara and lash enhancer.

The lash enhancing phyto-peptide formula complements the natural growth cycle of the lashes to improve the overall appearance and condition of lashes with each use. The jumbo, oversized brush with lash extending fibers instantly lengthens and plumps lashes.

The first thing I noticed was the oversized wand—love it! The wand grabs my lashes in the cleanest way (meaning each lash stands on its own, because it separates like a gem).

*Reminds me of BADgal Lash by benefits:

If you have a problem or a fear of oversized “Mascara Wand” you can always use a disposable wand (standard mascara wand size) for coating your lashes.

This mascara promise to promote longer fuller lashes that grow stronger day after day.

Did it happened?

Just after 2weeks I noticed my lashes graced my orbital bone—didn't see any change in thickness or in color, but when I applied Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara I was “Wowing”.

The only downside I could think of is after a few hours of wear I did noticed some residue under my eye. I also stop using Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara on its own (mixing my mascara together *gives me extremely thick bold lashes*) and I lost whatever growth I thought I was achieving within a few weeks (assuming any product will lose its potency when adding other ingredients to it).

Overall, Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara did do what it promised, but didn't keep it promise when used w/ other mascara. Will I repurchase? Maybe …but no time soon—I ended up with a double pack.
